Return and Disassembly Procedure

Customer interested in returning a Vilter compressor must first contact Vilter for proper procedures and approval. Then, prior to actual frame shipment to Vilter, the customer should remove all non-frame parts, such as shut-off valves, crankcase heater, oil cooling parts, oils, etc. When Vilter receives the "used" or "out-of-commission" compressor, the Inspection Department makes a visual evaluation to determine that the frame and head covers are acceptable.

Internal parts do not need to be returned since they will be scrapped, but a closed core must be sent (frame, covers, heads, rear bearing housing, filter head cover, oil canister, oil filter central spool and hand-hole cover). Valves, suction tees and discharge elbows should be retained by the customer for use with the remanufactured compressor.

Frames and covers are washed in-house and checked for thread condition. Frames are pressure tested to 300 PSIG and updated to current standards (if necessary).

Procedure and Frame Allowances

If the returned frame satisfactorily passes the 300 PSIG test, frames credit is then issued to the customer.
